. . . Vishaka is eager to serve you with her passion and talents whether your project is government or private. She was contracted by FEMA for the recovery efforts in Mississippi after Katrina. The State of Washington has employed her skills in environmental protection, emergency management, and project management. Vishaka was recently employed by a private engineering consulting company and working toward a Project Management Certificate.

Vishaka Smith, Ph.D., is a Registered Professional Civil Engineer in the State of Washington, a team player, a dynamic project lead and a conscientious world citizen from Sri Lanka, living in Seattle. Vishaka has contributed her technical skills in a wide variety of fields in the public sector and in universities in the United States. She has taught at universities and schools in her native country as well. Her compassionate actions toward her fellow countrymen and women after the tsunami disaster were featured in the Seattle P-I on January 14, 2005. She makes an effort to balance her wisdom with compassion. Read more to find out how she does this.

Compassionate Contributions

Vishaka has always been passionate about protecting environmental and human health. Her post-graduate studies focused on water quality preservation. Then she earned her Ph.D.in Environmental Policy and Management and developed a methodology to control urban nonpoint source pollution.
